friday love list

  • My obsession with ankle boots is as strong as ever.  With that said, I’ll take these…and these.
  • Pinterest is still my favorite hobby.  Come check out my latest outfit obsessions.
  • This art print is on my wishlist.  Love the bursts of color.
  • I’m smitten with Sarah Yates blog lately.  Her photography is beyond amazing, plus she has a sweet pup.
  • This weekend I want to see “Like Crazy,” go to brunch (typical), and find the perfect crew neck sweater.  Maybe some laziness in between!  What are your plans?
PS – doesn’t it look like I’m reading my own love list??  Har har har.

Three Things

Thanks so much for the sweet comments on my hair tutorial!  I heart you.  Here are three things I’m particularly smitten with in this very moment:

// This wintery gray outfit on the cutest darn little Dutch girl I’ve ever seen!  Oh and can I have some of those autumn leaves? Aaaand the Isabel Marants?

// This mid-century modern living room found in the pages of Dwell.  I guess I’m not the only one who loves it – I see a comment from my lover boy, Kyle, on that link!  We like what we like.

// This roasted carrot and avocado salad with lemon and orange dressing.  That Jamie Oliver is one talented chef.  Plus, I will eat anything that has carrots in it.  And avocados.  And lemon.  And orange.  I guess it’s a match made in heaven.

Weekend Update

Ohh hiii freezing cold weather!  I can’t remember the last time it’s been this chilly in LA.  Luckily I was cooped up inside for most of the weekend, catching up on TV shows, knitting, drinking hot apple cider (from Trader Joe’s), and laughing at my own jokes (do you do that too?).

We did venture out of the house a few times – on Saturday night, we went out on the town (how unlike us!) and on Sunday, we went to see the musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” starring 2 of my cousins!!  I was so proud and they were amazing in it.

Here are a few other bits and pieces from the weekend:

trader joe's chocolate croissants

[lots and lots of reading and knitting]

 [brought out the chunky knits]

west coast bus scrolls

In case it gets cold outside

cold weather outfit

If and when it decides to get cold outside (and by cold, I mean below 70 degrees), I will be fully prepared with the following items: oversized sweaters, a bulky (yet chic) parka, stretchy jeans, thick scarves, comfortable boots, and a large carryall that will hold all the rest of my cold weather needs.

I own none of these items (except for boots), so I guess I will, in fact, not be prepared.  Good thing I’m doing this post because I would’ve never known I needed all these items.  Dear boyfriend, will you buy me a parka??

I just LOVE the cold weather!  It’s kind of rare in LA but when it eventually comes, ooooh I just love it so much.  I’m still waiting patiently for the temp to drop, but in the meantime, have a good day and wear something extra warm if it’s cold where you are!

Random outfit of the week

I can never decide whether or not I want to post outfits on this here blog.  Most of the time, they’re a little boring and basic.  Oh, what the heck, we’re giving it a shot.

Anyway, this outfit is a perfect representation of what I wear on a daily basis: super simple, non-fussy items that are both comfortable and functional for work.  I added just a slight amount of pizzazz with a vintage necklace and a few bangles.
