This weekend was a good busy.  You know the kind?  Where you’re busy but you’re doing things that you love doing like furniture shopping and eating out at yummy places?  And going to art shows and watching a marathon of Julie Delpy movies on Netflix?  You know what I mean?  A super good busy.

Anyway here are some snapshots that I took this weekend (and these photos are all from my iphone because I may or may not have lost my camera’s battery charger in the move…which of course I will find the minute the new charger is delivered):

Blueberries + Anthro bowls are like a match made in food blogger heaven:

Sometimes the Kogi taco truck is hard to track and follow around but luckily they serve their delicious Korean/Mexican/Californian fare at the Alibi Room…pretty much ate everything on the menu:

Dreaming of warmer days, afternoon barbecues with friends,  jogs down to the beach, outdoor food and wine festivals, concerts at the Greek Theatre, brunch on the patio, trips to the flower market downtown, shopping with an iced coffee in hand…..all while wearing simple, neutral colors like this shirtdress, and, most importantly, pretty colors on my feet.

alexa chung red pants

Back in February, I mulled over the idea of wearing red pants and decided that they were a necessity in my life (see post here).  But, I never ended up finding any in stores so my obsession faded and I moved on.

Fast forward to early May and I see this photo of the most amazing faded red Levi’s.  Alexa Chung in faded red Levi’s, no less.  Consider the red pant obsession reignited.

casual day outfit

As much as I love floral dresses, wide-leg trousers, and structured blazers, I must admit that weekend clothes are the bestest of best.  AM I RIGHT?  During the warmer months, nothing makes me happier than loose-fitted shirts and cut-off shorts, especially when paired with funky and cool accessories.

I can picture myself wearing this easy, casual outfit all weekend long, picking out veggies at the farmer’s market, rifling through old jewelry at the flea, unpacking boxes at my new apt (oooof, not looking forward to that one), and drinking Bloody Marys at Bottega Louie.  Oh how I love weekends!

I’d Wear a Bib

I’m having a real hard time focusing on blogging, sleeping, and/or anything unrelated to the Royal Wedding.  I’ve got the fever!   MAJORLY.  Do you?

But I just wanted to pop in and let you know how much I love bib necklaces, especially these Anthropologie ones.  They’re all so detailed and colorful!  Besides the fact that Anthro can do no wrong, these statement necklaces are, in fact, very reasonably priced!  I definitely want to add a few to my wardrobe.

I don’t know about you but I’m really bad about incorporating accessories into my daily outfits.  I tend to grab my watch and thin rings and that’s about it.  But, the thing I love about bib necklaces is that they’re so bold and dramatic, you only need to wear the one necklace and you’re good to go.  No need to rifle through your pile of jewels and layer up matching pieces.  One of these bibs will do the trick!  They have the ability to transform any old plain outfit into something glamorous and unexpected.  AKA I NEED MORE BIBS IN MY LIFE.
