FRIDAY LOVE LIST

Yay for Friday!  I wanted to give you a little sneak peak of what our living room gallery wall is shaping up to be.  It’s definitely not done (yes, that’s brown paper taped to the wall) and we still have a few more prints to hang, but once it’s all finished, I will take real photos of it!  This is just the sneak peak teaser photo!

Anyway, seeing as it’s Friday, Friday, and we got get down on Friday, I thought I would share all the things I’m loving this week:

  • One of my favorite people, Ann-Marie, just relaunched her etsy: Ann-Marie Loves Paper etsy.  It has the CUTEST die cut prints I’ve ever seen.  You must check them out.  I can’t wait to add a few to my collection.
  • This video on My New Roots about how to make nut milk (i.e. almond milk) is driving me wild!  It’s such a simple recipe and I can’t wait to try it.  Plus, the video is super cute.
  • I’m new to the world of Fab.com but holy heck, it’s one of my new favorites.  Just bought this United States print yesterday for my office.  Click here for an invitation.
  • The new fall collection of Alexa Chung for Madewell graces the pages of InStyle‘s September issue.  What a beauty!  Click here to see.  I was hyperventilating the first time I saw.
  • Watermelon pizza?  Yes please.

Three Things

three things

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  Mine was super relaxing and fun – laid out by the pool, barbecued, celebrated my dad’s birthday, and saw the Glee 3D movie.  I would consider that a very successful weekend!  I also did a lot of internet browsing (as per usual) and came across 3 things that caught my eye:

  1. This Madewell look from their current “looks we love” is really speaking to me.  I love the casual look of the sweater matched with trousers.  So tomboy-ish and chic!
  2. Since Kyle and I are in the midst of planning a gallery wall in our living room (pics to come as soon as it’s finished!), we’ve been perusing a lot of design sites for inspiration.  This particular gallery wall is one of my favorites because even though it’s a hodge podge collection and randomly placed on the wall, it still looks polished and totally perfect.
  3. Pretty much anything that Sweet Paul does makes my heart skip a beat but I’m particularly loving these fava bean crostini.  How great would they be at a dinner party?

Friday Love List

Is it Friday already??  I swear this week just flew by.  3 minutes ago I was typing out my post for M Street Kitchen and now it’s the end of the week.  My super busy work week was to blame, especially this little diddy that was going on.  But you know what?  I really love work.  That’s going to be #1 on my love list this week.  I love my dang job!

  •  I’m also loving this corner of my desk (in my home office – promise to show more soon!), complete with my new favorite Rifle Paper Co. notebook, a Le Pen (a swoonworthy pen, let me tell you), a couple washi tapes, a stamp, and some baker’s twine.
  • These Colby June rings are so gorgeous and I want all of them.
  • Last Friday, we went to First Fridays in Venice, which is an art walk of sorts with lots of food trucks and fun things going on.  LOVED it.
  • It’s a no brainer that I’m obsessed with Destined to Design blog because it has all my favorite elements: design, style, food, typography, and lots more goodness.  She also has one of my favorite Pinterests.
  • These Steven boots are absolutely perfect for the end of summer and the transition into fall.  Need them asap.  Also, I’m gonna throw it out there: I like websites with free shipping.
  • Lusting after this chain bag from Nasty Gal.
  • I want to make this summery salad from Green Kitchen Stories.  That grilled zucchini paired with raw apples and beets looks like a dream come true.
  • Oh hey, our dining table is being delivered today!  It’s a big hunk of wood and I cannot wait to see it.

M Street Kitchen

This weekend, 2 of my very good friends, Christina and Michelle, came to visit me.  We, of course, went to brunch because there is nothing else logical to do on a Sunday morning except eat excess amounts of food.  So we ventured over to M Street Kitchen, one of my favorite spots for dinner, to test out their weekend brunch menu.

As you can see, I had a breakfast sandwich with egg, avocado, turkey, and tomato on a freshly baked english muffin.  Not pictured is the giant plate of hashed browns I also ordered!  YUM, everything was so delicious and fresh.  In my book, if you do breakfast right, you can’t do anything wrong.  Ohh I just love brunch so much.

But of course, seeing these lovely ladies was the best part!  We probably spent 90% of the time instagramming photos on our iPhones but that’s why I love us.  I miss them already and can’t wait for another visit.

…and by kinda, I mean I REALLY love them LOTS and LOTS!

Friday Love List

Hey I kinda like making lists, I decided.  Here are more things I’m lovin’:

Boyfriend and I both have half-days on Fridays (in the summer).  That means a whole extra .5 day to veg out on the couch together and catch up on all our favorite shows.

This kitchen makeover spotted on design*sponge is doing a number on me.  I’m obsessed with literally every aspect of that kitchen, from the reclaimed wood table to the industrial pendant lighting to the concrete slab walls.  Yes, please.

I’ve only recently discovered the amazing world of Pennyweight blog but color me smitten and totallyyyyy in love.

Love any recipe that incorporates quinoa so you can only imagine how much I’m diggin this quinoa & bean burrito with green tomato salsa.

I’ve had this Angus & Julia Stone song stuck in my head all week – but it’s so lovely, I don’t even care that it’s stuck!

Two (and possibly 3) of my most favorite people are coming to visit me this weekend for brunch!  Oh, I love weekends.
