Speaking of Spectacles…

…how amazing was the Burberry Prorsum AW10 show? Christopher Bailey left me speechless/breathless/awed/amazed/etc. Basically I wasn’t breathing for a solid 30 seconds (probably not healthy). Burberry knows. how. to make. a damn. coat. That’s what it boils down to.

The first part of the show was an aviation-inspired theme, full of oversized, shearling-lined (OBSESSED), button-and-belt-detailed coats.

It then transitioned into more of a military theme with navy blazers adorned with gold buttons. Pants anyone? No thanks, says Burberry. Who needs them!

Of course it wouldn’t be a Burberry show without a trench here and there! Also, the level of shearling increased as the show progressed until, at the very end, there was an explosion of full-on shearling coats. Sigh.

We can’t forget to discuss the gorgeous shearling-lined, buckle boots in the last 2 images. Love. Love. Love. Christopher Bailey, you make beautiful, well-constructed, wearable, desirable clothes!

Also, if you didn’t get a chance to watch the Burberry show (which streamed LIVE on the internet) and have a spare 28 minutes and 45 seconds to devote to said explosion of shearling bliss, you must see it! Click on: http://live.burberry.com/. If you want to skip right to the show itself, go to minute 11:50. As an added bonus, if you look real hard, you can see Kristen Stewart (front row, obvs) bobbing her legs to the music and Mary-Kate (gasp!) lowering her ever-present sunglasses (once or twice) to get a more desirable view of the Burb coats.

Art Of The Trench

For the past several hours, I’ve been glued to the new Burberry trench-centric website, Art Of The Trench.

Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist) has collaborated with Burberry and shot men and women of all ages wearing the iconic Burberry trench in various cities across the world. The result? A website full of the chicest trench coat-wearers I’ve ever seen!

The Facebook-like site allows you to navigate through the images, share them, “like” them, and even comment on them. It’s quite an exhilarating experience, let me tell you.

Oh and the best part?? The Kooks playing the background music. Brilliant, I tell you. Don’t tell my bf but that British accent gets me every time.

Right now, there is nothing I want more than to walk the streets of London or Paris, wearing a Burb trench. But for now, this website will fill that void. Sigh.
