Happy Kitchen

Right now, my kitchen is smiling from ear to ear.  She’s so happy to have 2 new friends to hang out with everyday, especially one that smells real nice and another that makes her lots of yummy desserts:

Peonies: I found these beauties at Trader Joe’s and they are just about perfect.  Besides the fact that they’re gorgeous (and pink), peonies are one of the most alluring flowers because they’re only available for like 5 minutes.  So whenever they’re at TJ’s (i.e. for like 2 weeks out of the year), I scoop up as many as I can!

KitchenAid Stand Mixer: My brother recently bought me this pistachio-colored stand mixer and I about died when he did!  It was my housewarming gift from him – what a good brother!!  He even knew my favorite color.  I guess now I have to make him all of his favorite desserts!

Weekend Snapshots (aka instagrams)

My new camera battery charger is en route from China so I’m still camera-less and it’s all very depressing.  Until it arrives, I will (of course) still be using my instagram app heavily.  I mean, why not?  It probably takes better photos than my regular camera anyways!

So I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I celebrated Father’s Day with my father, ate at True Food Kitchen (will show you pictures soon), did a lot of shopping, watched amazingly cheesy TV shows with my friends, and spent lots of time with my family.  Here are a few snapshots:

[french pressing is my favorite part of the weekend, especially with nostalgic Vancouver mugs]

[the peonies at Trader Joe’s right now are so beautiful, it’s out of control]

[we picked up this industrial stool at CB2‘s floor sample sale on Friday]

Red Sunflowers

Who says Thanksgiving can’t be a chic occasion? With these red sunflowers I found at Trader Joe’s today, the Thanksgiving table will not only reflect the beautiful colors of fall, but will look chic doing it. Adding a simple, yet bright color will jazz up any table and serve as a stunning background for the turkey feast. Happy Chic Thanksgiving!
