Hey Girl

I definitely don’t consider myself a girly girl.  I like army green jackets, loose-fitting tees, and boots – that’s my thing.  But every once in awhile, I crave super sweet and girly items, like polka dot swimsuits or pleated pink dresses.  Take today for example:  My nails are a subtle pale pink and I’m wearing a bow in my hair.  For no apparent reason.  It’s perfectly acceptable to switch it up every once in awhile, eh?  Here are several darling items I’m lusting after as of late:

  1. Nasty Gal Sweet Pleats Dress
  2. Kate Spade Crystal Kaleidoscope Necklace
  3. Foliage Bow Barrette
  4. Topshop Red Scallop Hem Short
  5. J. Crew Polka Dot Underwire Top and Grommet Short
  6. Scotch Naturals in Neat
  7. ASOS Cath Kidston Cotton Rucksack

Clutch Shopping

Clare Vivier Foldover clutches

Sometimes I don’t realize I need something until I come across it via blog hopping or Pinterest.  For example, now that I’m looking at these Clare Vivier Foldover Clutches, it has dawned on me that I do need a clutch, you guys.  Especially one that folds over!  In fact, I don’t own a single clutch (the silver sequined one I got for senior prom does not count).

Anyway, this foldover clutch is super versatile because you can dress it up or down, fold it up or down, hold it upside-down (because of the zipper), etc.  I love a multitasker.  It also comes in lots of pretty, pretty colors.  My faves are the camel and royal blue.

Dear Outfit, I have a crush on you.

I’ve been perusing the interwebs for some outfit inspiration and let me tell you, I am now 100% inspired (yes, these are the things I do on Saturday nights, are you judging? yes, I’m eating chocolate-covered peeps and now have a chocolate-smudged keyboard, do I sense judgment being passed?).

Anyways, these outfits are pulling at my heartstrings.  If I could wear them all at the same time, I probably would.  But since that’s not humanly possible (both physically and financially), here are the things that I LOVE about each look, and maybe/hopefully they will soon be mine:

Two Ways: Mint Green + Pale Peach

mint green and peach

Right now, I’m absolutely smitten with pastel-centric color palettes, especially the combination of minty greens and pale peaches.  Besides the fact that it sounds like a yummy dessert/snack (sliced peaches & mint tea? no? am I the only one that has food on my mind constantly?), this color combination is feminine and sweet and quintessentially spring.

So pretty much, I wish I was wearing a pleated mint green skirt and peach blouse while filling my mint green and peach Ikea storage boxes with awesome coffee table books and knick knacks.
