Gossip Girl Thanksgiving

I just have one question for you Gossip Girl addicts.  How epic was that Thanksgiving table conversation?

“Blair told me you were responsible for sabotaging me at cotillion… What? You don’t have anything to say to me?” says Little J to Eric.  To which he responds, “Your sweet potatoes are bland.”

All this whilst Blair is outing her mother for being pregnant (she’s not), Tripp’s wife is outing Tripp and Serena’s love affair, CiCi is subtly outing Lily’s secrets, and Vanessa’s mother is eavesdropping on everyone’s problems.  What, you may ask, is Chuck doing during these shenanigans?  Simply looking ravishingly handsome.

But back to Little J, she was wearing polka dot tights and an 80s-inspired mini dress (sorry I couldn’t find a picture) for Thanksgiving.  Sounds vaguely familiar.  What a little slutski.

As for Blair,  I dearly miss her headbands.  Is that such a crime?  But nevertheless, I love her gray textured tights.  It’s really nice to see colored tights every once in a while.  That girl never disappoints me.  Ahhh, to own Blair’s wardrobe…

Holiday Party Season

Right now, I’m attempting to build a holiday party outfit around these Urban Outfitter’s sheer polka dot tights that I purchased a few weeks ago.  You know by now that I’m really feeling patterned tights this season so I definitely want to incorporate them in my holiday party outfit.

But what shall I wear??  I don’t know if I should go ultra trendy and wear a velvet and/or sequin dress with shoulder pads or do something a little more classic.  Since I’m currently exploring my options on Topshop, ASOS, and Bloomys,  it looks like I’ll be heading in the trendy direction.

I don’t dress super trendy on a regular basis, but honestly, if I’m going the trendy route, it’s best to do so at a holiday party where everyone’s a bit tipsy on champagne and shrimp skewers.  No one will even notice that I’m dressed for a 1984 prom and if they do, their colored judgment will instantly approve of those shoulder pads.  More power to you and your lace, I always say.

Anyways, here is my short list for potential holiday party dresses, trendy or otherwise:

If you had time to click through all of these selections, then you, like me, have no life.  Just kidding! But seriously, if you perused through these holiday dresses, you’ll notice that all of them are quite short in length and therefore, tights are a must.  I’m trying to keep it classy girls!

When the holiday season rolls around the corner, I will pair my dresses with a chic, black ankle boot if I’m feeling bold or embellished flats if my feet start to hurt.  Either way, I will attempt to deck the halls in the trendiest way possible.
